'I like the website, it's easy to navigate and booking is easy to do. It's good to be kept informed every step of the way. The accommodation is good, the groups are very sociable and helpful if anyone is struggling. We had a great leader and host'.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Valley Walk
Join us on the arrival day by 2 pm for a local walk to get to know the others in our group and the environment close by.
[3 hours walking, 6 km]
For those who are unable to arrive by then, join us for dinner at 6:30 pm, after which we will talk through our planned programme.
Day 2 - Derwent Water Shore Trail
We start the day in Keswick and from there we set off to walk along the Borrowdale Valley, along the shores of Derwent Water and via the beautifully restored Lingholm Estate. In winter conditions the fells are often snow-capped, making the views from the valley tracks so much more impressive. Lake-side paths lead through ancient oak woodland to the ‘Jaws of Borrowdale’ where the mountains are at their most dramatic, before we reach the upper valley and a welcome cuppa at our hotel.
[5 hours walking, 12 km]
Day 3 - Langstrath Valley
We walk a circuit of the Langstrath Valley, home of wild and beautiful locations including a long chain of idyllic pools. Our route takes us to the picturesque Tray Dub, a crystal-clear pool and a perfect, remote lunch stop. In winter conditions, the waterfalls on Langstrath Beck can become impressive torrents - a great photo opportunity.
[5 hours walking, 12 km]
Day 4 - Scaleclose Force
We walk from the hotel to complete a circuit of the nearby Doat Fell taking in Scaleclose Force waterfall and the hamlet of Seatoller. This is a great route to finish on – a last chance to take in the stunning views around Upper Borrowdale. We aim to finish our programme by 1:30 pm.
[3 hours walking, 7 km]
Please note that this itinerary is subject to weather conditions being favourable. Walking times and distances shown are approximations and may vary. Our aim, above all, is to make the right choice each day so that we enjoy the most appropriate route for the conditions.
