Once again our winter trip to Borrowdale provided a welcome stepping stone to spring. The weather really turned up trumps! Blue skies and mirror-calm lakes made this a very pleasant 4-day break. Our walks around Borrowdale and Buttermere were memorable for stunning views and for being so quiet (one of the joys of winter walking) - we often had the place to ourselves
And at the end of the day we returned to the log fires and sofas of the Glaramara lounge bar (great coffee and beers!) for a post-walk chat before our 4-course dinner.
