These photos from March and April ’22 are a reminder of just how amazing it can be to go walking in The Lake District in spring. The daffs are in bloom, the trees in bud, and the sheep are expectant.
Rydal Hall, our base in the South Lakes, is a great spot to soak up the beauty of the changing countryside, with its ancient gardens, tumbling streams and wild woodland.
Some really great hikes begin here and follow easy tracks to Grasmere and Ambleside, while a network of well-worn paths take the more adventurous walker to the summits of nearby hills: Loughrigg, Nab Scar, and Silver Howe.
This area has the benefit of being in the heart of the Lakes, and yet is easy to access by road or (fingers crossed!) rail.
Fancy treating yourself to some jaw-dropping walks and cosy hotel comforts? So do we!
Our next visit to Rydal Hall will be March 23-26th (Thursday to Sunday). If you would like to join us, or would like details of our planned itinerary please visit our webpage here.
